Immigration DNA Testing
The UK government introduced a scheme that uses DNA testing as evidence to resolve relationship disputes regarding immigration applications in January 1991. These DNA tests are often more complex than standard DNA tests (e.g. in paternity cases) and the analysis takes a little longer as a result.
As with court-approved testing, you will need to employ the services of an accredited DNA testing company for your results to be acceptable.
Will I need a solicitor?
No, not unless you wish to apply for public funding for testing. However, you may find that a solicitor, the Immigration Advisory Service or Immigration Consultancy Services will be able to offer assistance in completing the appropriate forms.
